Goodbye Couch! Fitness is interesting, practical and effective (as was the famous 5BX program). To achieve this :
  1. The exercises had to be easy to learn and few in number as possible.
  2. The plan had to result in a basic and balanced level of fitness involved in the four main muscle groups and the hearts and respiratory system.
  3. The time required had to be a short as possible.
  4. The exercises had to be such that special equipment or facilities were not required. The plan had to provide easy beginning and gradual progression to prevent strain, soreness and discomfort.
  5. The plan had to provide different levels of fitness for persons of different age groups.
  6. The plan had to provide the user with a method to determine and note their progress from day to day.
