We asked people what motivated them to get fit - here were some of their answers.

Seeing clothes that I cannot wear.

Preparing for army fitness test.

My 3 kids, my husband and my health. I want to be there when I am blessed with grandchildren, I want to play with my children and be relativly pain free, I want to be the best mom I can be.

I went on a fantastic cycling holiday in Cambodia, all the time, ahead of me, were two 74 year old americans who did their 5BX daily

I am TOOOO Fat!!!

I am 37 and a woman. I hate the gym. I have no weight issues, just need to get more shape or tone

Being fat.

Protecting myself from assault and enjoying life.

35 and feeling old and weak.

Fear of illness

Competition and health

I was skiing and I fell and couldn't get up. Imagine me there too heavy to get up asking for help and when someone finally stopped, he had a very hard time helping me up.

Everyone around me

I am over 50 and do not want to become a recluse. There is still so much to see in the world and so many adventures to enjoy.

I tried on new cloths for job interviews, and oh [no]! I have got to get started doing something.

I am 57 and want to be lean and fit. I admire an athletic physique. I have six children 3 to 21. I will be 73 when the youngest is 21 and I want to be a fit athletic dad at that time. Life is better fitter. I have started skipping for fitness and aim to be fast and fluid at this.

I am 48 and recently lost 70 pounds over the course of about 20 months. I just feel better about everything and now want to get even more fit.
